Florida Florida Florida!!

I can't wait to go to Florida!! Exciting stuff.

The only bad thing is we'll be driving for something like 12 hours... Oh yay..

Well I won't have a computer all next week so I will probably not be writing much unfortunately!! I'll be at the beach instead!!

Anyway better go and download music and stuff to make the car journey slightly more bearable!!

Shopping!!

Don't you just LOVE shopping!!!
Here's some of the gorgeous things I've bought recently in american shops!

Underwear from Victoria's Secret (5 for $25)..
Dress, two tops, sunglasses, pyjama shorts, and two pairs of heels ($10 for first, $5 for second!) from Charlotte Russe...
Shorts, tank, top and cardigan from Abercrombie and Fitch..
Cardigan and top from American Eagle...
Leather bag, Levi's and shoes from Tj maxx. That place is great if you want to spend ages looking for things..

I've also had a look in other shops like Wet Seal which I found some cool tops in last year but this year I didn't really like it that much. I also had a look in Old Navy but everything was quite dull and plain. There were a few things that looked pretty nice then I picked them up and there was something there that just made them not quite right.

What do you guys think of all these shops? Any suggestions for other shops to look in? I haven't been in Hollister yet or Forever21 which I'd like to.

I'm also soon going to Florida where I'm told they have good outlet shops. Anyone know if this is true? Sometimes outlet shops are great but often they can just be full of crap that nobody wants!!

GORGEOUS new drinks!!

If you like smoothies then you'll love these new drinks that are coming out this september. Unlike most smoothies which you could just make at home as all they are is pure fruit, these drinks have natural ingredients added to help your skin, concentration, to help you, recover from a hangover and more depending on the individual drink.

They also have amazing unique flavours. They also have a natural ingredient in them that helps fill you up and help you to not snack.

They will firstly be launching into waitrose, then tesco, and will probably filter into Starbucks and more. If you are in the UK you must try them; they're going to be great. I don't know if they are coming into other countries yet but I'm sure they will.

They are called 'Naturally' drinks so look out for them!!!

Gorgeous clothes and designers of the moment..

As it is getting closer and closer to the end of summer, let's have a look at some of the gorgeous styles for the autumn/winter...

I don't have much time to write this but I will do my best!

Michael Kors, Jackie dress Ivory

- Gorgeous shape and style

- An easy look with tights and a fitted coat

Philip Lim, fall collection

- Great combinations, check out the site

- Gorgeous looks with long cardigan (left) and great military style waistcoat (right)

ChloƩ winter accessories (above) (bag in middle seems to have turned greeny when editing! It should be brown. Take a look at the site). ChloƩ have some gorgeous accessories; especially bags!

Sonia Rykiel, Autumn/Winter 2007.

- Amazing bold and unique coats and jackets

- Look for similar eye-catching coats instead of a dull black trench coat. You're coat is often all that is seen in winter due to the cold weather.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Autumn 2007 collection.

My computer seems to be doing something strange to the pictures so it is a bit difficult to see but the thick wooly clothes look great with white wooly tights and a shoulder bag. Warm and gorgeous! Make sure the dress is short to avoid looking swamped in the clothes!

- Try thick white tights with dark clothes; it's a great look

DO's and DON'T's fashion guide!

DO wear shoes that make a statement! Interesting eye-catching shoes (e.g. shoe on left, from Office) or super high shoes (e.g. from Aldo, right) .

DON'T ever ever EVER wear crocs anywhere if there is the slightest chance that someone might see you! I saw some of these dreadful things in the window of a London shop for something like 40 pounds ($80)!! Ridiculous!! Who would do it?! Another one to note is not to bother with dull dolly shoes; EVERYONE has them..

DO mix cheap dresses (e.g. from Primark) with (relatively) expensive accessories.

DON'T show your tummy with short cropped tops. This is NOT fashionable. The only way youn can perhaps do this is if you have a very cute small t-shirt, a VERY flat tummy and nice skinny jeans.

DO wear cute summery dresses (e.g dress to right from Forever21)

DON'T wear plain t-shirts with plain jeans and plain shoes; you look boring! On the other hand don't wear patterns head to toe either.

DO take a look around charity shops and through parents and grandparents old clothes; vintage stuff is great. You can be very successful in finding things like belts and jewellery by doing this. I always get comments on a bunch of my Mum's old belts that I took from her as she was about to throw them out!

DON'T buy anything that everyone has as this does not make you fashionable, it makes you a clone. If you really like something that everyone has, buy something similar with a unique twist.

DO be daring and try wearing things such as high waisted shorts and dungarees that look cool in magazines but you don't see many people wearing. You may start a trend!

(shorts from Topshop)

DON'T forget about accessories. A pair of cool sunglasses are essential and make you look amazing. Long necklaces with lots of cute detail or something big and bold can make an outfit. Wooden and metallic jewellery looks great.

USA!!

I am now in Alabama!! I'm on holiday so sorry for those of you who want to hear about what modelling I am up to; I won't be up to any for about three weeks!

I will keep writing, however, about previous experiences, latest fashions and anything interesting that's going on when I can!

Thanks for reading and please don't stop reading my blog; there could be some interesting things happening after my holiday...

A little more catching up...

I had to pack for going on holiday before I left for the shoot the next morning as I would not be coming back home!

It was a beauty shoot for the same magazine as the day before. This time I was the only model, however. It was in a different location too so just as I was arriving at this location I got a call from my agency saying: 'Sorry they've changed the location back to the original location!' I therefore had to travel for another 45 mins or so as this location was quite a while away.

Although I arrived at 11:00 they, again, did things very slowly and I was in hair and make-up until about 5! We were supposed to get 6-8 shots and I stayed there until after 9 just to get 6! The train I was supposed to be geting wasn't running due to flooding and accidents and all sorts so I didn't get to my Aunt and Uncle's house where I was staying until after midnight.

Catch up!

The Shoot

Sorry I haven't written in a while, I've been so busy!

Wednesday night I got a call from my agency asking if I could come down to London for a shoot in the morning and two castings in the afternoon. The first casting was what I was primarily coming down for and Antoine told me to 'make sure you look a million dollars'!

So the next morning I was up at 6 and went to get my hour and a half train. I arrived at the shoot at 10:30, however, and although people had been there since 8 NOTHING had been done!! None of the other models were happy either; partly because they had been waiting for so long and partly because they had only just been told that they would be asked to go topless. I wasn't asked to (thank god!) as I was too young and no one was forced. The girls, however, did feel it was pretty disrespectful for it to not even have been mentioned until the day.

I was pleased, however, that although about 25 models came throughout the day (they were doing a speedy portrait of everyone for a new magazine coming out this year) I was asked to come back the next day for another shoot. The hair stylist was keen on dying my hair black too but my agency told them they were NOT allowed.

I was supposed to be leaving at 12:30 and doing a casting at three for an important show (catwalk) casting director and I was only just ready to shoot at quarter to! I called one of my bookers, Antoine, and said What am I going to do!? He was just like

'Darling just walk out, walk out, seriously.'

Anyway I wasn't going to have waited there for all those hours and not shoot so I stayed for 5 minutes longer and did an extremely speedy shoot!

Castings!
I literally ran all the way to my first casting! I had black painted across my eyes in a sort of mask shape and spent most of my time travelling trying to scrub it all off with a face wipe. I am therefore pretty sure that I didn't exactly look 'a million dollars' when I turned up half an hour late with a face sore and red from scrubbing! The director seemed to be quite a grumpy man to me but did say when I did my walk that 'it did look like I had been doing this for a while' which, I suppose, may have been a compliment.
Thankfully I was not late for my last casting which was for a British Hair Awards shoot. All the models had just been through a huge amount of rain, however, so while we waited we were all drying our hair with hair dryers provided! They seemed fairly interested in me when I was interviewed. You can never tell with castings, however.
So I set off home getting back a little earlier than usual (about 7:30) which was nice.

Skincare!! And a look into make-up artists' bags!

Neal's Yard Remedies

Ok so I'm sure you don't want me to just ramble on about my life unless I have something terribly interesting going on so I will give you some useful information instead!

I've recently been to Neal's Yard Remedies and bought myself £50 worth of facial skincare. I really recommend the Palmarosa Purifying Facial Mask as it really does leave your skin feeling very fresh and improve the quality of it.

I thought I'd also give you a little insight to the types of skincare and make-up that are favourites of European make-up artists at the moment... (and, of course, that I have found to be any good!)

Shu Uemura

Shu Uemura (left.. gorgeous pic huh?!) is a japanese brand that is often used. They have a great range of colours and products. Many make-up artists have their suitcases packed with the stuff!

Their 'Depsea (whether this is a japanese spelling mistake or not, I don't know!) Moisture Replenishing Lotion' is quite a popular and refreshing toner that has been used on me several times.

M.A.C
Of course we could never talk of make-up without mentioning m.a.c! This is another brand which make-up artists ALWAYS have stored in their bags.Their liquid eyeliner is a particular favourite and their brushes are very widely used. In fact I've seen almost every one of their products in a make-up artist's bag at some point.
m.a.c foundation (above, right), however, is the big 'must-have' and I'd say over 90% of them have a set! Great stuff.
Dior
I have also come across a few make-up artists who have used Dior's Skinflash concealer/highlighter. I think it's a great product (although it really should be for its price!). It's easy to remove, apply and to make yourself look great. (plus its Dior!)

There is a very mmm.. interesting video on it on Dior's site. *Note the way the women says 'Dior'....!

Where's my MONEY?!

AHH.. My cheque still hasn't cleared. I think it must clear tomorrow but I want to go shopping! I have so much I want to buy! I'm thinking about buying one of those Wii things. Anyone know if they're any good?

Anyway I'm supposed to be designing my new wardrobe but I can't really be bothered.. So I came on here instead! -Aren't distractions great? I can't believe how awful the weather is; flooding in July! I can't wait to go on hol this saturday somewhere HOT HOT HOT!

Anyone read Harry Potter yet? I have to admit, even though I made fun of the people queuing until midnight, I have read the book already. Don't worry, I won't say what happens. I thought it was pretty good though. Leave comments and let me know what you think.

I will write as soon as I have news from my agency relating to what I will be up to this week.
Lots of love! x

Christopher Kane

I just thought I'd talk a little about a great designer I met a month or so ago for a shoot. When my shoot details said Product: Christopher Kane, I didn't ever think I would actually meet him!

Christopher made an amazing debut at last season's london fashion week with incredible bright-coloured, super-short dresses made from elastic strips and panels of lace. At 24 he is already working with Swarovski and Topshop!

I walked into the shoot and was shocked to see him sitting right in front of me at a sewing machine (he was working on a few items for me to wear). He was amazingly shy and humble!

Christopher Kane will no doubt be showing in September's fashion week which I am greatly looking forward to!

Hamburg

I seem to already have some interesting things waiting for me when I get back from holiday in the US:
Apparently I may be doing a shoot in Hamburg a day after I get back! Ok I will be totally jetlagged but never mind...!

I can't remember what magazine my agency told me it was for... I will get back to that. Anyway hopefully it will happen!!

So today I'm just sitting at home feeling very bored (and extremely cold for a time which is supposed to be summer). I am planning on decorating my room brown and teal and am searching for cushions, beadspreads, beanbags etc. that I could buy... I've already searched TK max, ikea, next, and various shops for items. I have a feeling this could be quite expensive...

Big Opportunities!

Off to see a man next week who casts for Prada, Jil Sander, Louis Vuitton and other great designers! He is described as the 'model-maker' on google...

So this is how my next week is looking:
Monday: Shop
Tuesday: Shop
Wednesday: Possible shoot with Look magazine
Thursday: castings castings castings...

Of course this is likely to change judging by the way agencies operate.. I am likely to get a call monday morning from my lovely booker Antoine saying:

-'ello Darling, it's Antoine. I 'av options for you tuesday, wednesday, thursday. Is zat ok baby?

Not that I'd mind! I love being busy. Anyway, friday I'm off on holiday to the US so I'll have plenty of relaxation then!

First post!

I'm finally on holiday and am waiting eagerly for my cheque to clear; I've been looking forward to shopping for a while!

I'm quite relieved to not have a job this weekend, my shoulders and feet are amazingly sore from running from casting to casting on thursday. My bookers managed to give me two castings, both at 6:00 but at either sides of London. I turned up to the final one an hour and a half late! I was very excited, however, to hear that I had been placed with an agency in Canada and an agency in Tokyo! Next summer, after GCSEs, I may be off to Tokyo on contract! I may also have agencies in Milan and Paris soon.
