Catch up!

The Shoot

Sorry I haven't written in a while, I've been so busy!

Wednesday night I got a call from my agency asking if I could come down to London for a shoot in the morning and two castings in the afternoon. The first casting was what I was primarily coming down for and Antoine told me to 'make sure you look a million dollars'!

So the next morning I was up at 6 and went to get my hour and a half train. I arrived at the shoot at 10:30, however, and although people had been there since 8 NOTHING had been done!! None of the other models were happy either; partly because they had been waiting for so long and partly because they had only just been told that they would be asked to go topless. I wasn't asked to (thank god!) as I was too young and no one was forced. The girls, however, did feel it was pretty disrespectful for it to not even have been mentioned until the day.

I was pleased, however, that although about 25 models came throughout the day (they were doing a speedy portrait of everyone for a new magazine coming out this year) I was asked to come back the next day for another shoot. The hair stylist was keen on dying my hair black too but my agency told them they were NOT allowed.

I was supposed to be leaving at 12:30 and doing a casting at three for an important show (catwalk) casting director and I was only just ready to shoot at quarter to! I called one of my bookers, Antoine, and said What am I going to do!? He was just like

'Darling just walk out, walk out, seriously.'

Anyway I wasn't going to have waited there for all those hours and not shoot so I stayed for 5 minutes longer and did an extremely speedy shoot!

Castings!
I literally ran all the way to my first casting! I had black painted across my eyes in a sort of mask shape and spent most of my time travelling trying to scrub it all off with a face wipe. I am therefore pretty sure that I didn't exactly look 'a million dollars' when I turned up half an hour late with a face sore and red from scrubbing! The director seemed to be quite a grumpy man to me but did say when I did my walk that 'it did look like I had been doing this for a while' which, I suppose, may have been a compliment.
Thankfully I was not late for my last casting which was for a British Hair Awards shoot. All the models had just been through a huge amount of rain, however, so while we waited we were all drying our hair with hair dryers provided! They seemed fairly interested in me when I was interviewed. You can never tell with castings, however.
So I set off home getting back a little earlier than usual (about 7:30) which was nice.
